Whew, let me tell you something about that jerk salmon! I felt like I was straight in Jamaica... and I haven't even been there yet! That flavor? UNREAL. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, with just the right amount of kick. The chef deserves a kiss, no exaggeration. FYI it is spicy ! Oxtails are just as good but not spicy! Mrs. Grace and her husband are absolute gems. You can tell the love they pour into their food and the kindness they show every customer. It's not a big dine-in spot, but that didn't matter, I grabbed mine to go, and the aroma alone made it hard not to eat it all in the car. If you're craving authentic Jamaican flavors with real heart behind the cooking, Gold Spoon Jamaican Cuisine is it. Trust me, you'll be hooked.

My go to Jamaican spot is closed on Wednesdays so I searched for some other options in the area and found this one on yelp. There was no one inside waiting ahead so I was able to order a medium curry chicken plate right away. It didn't take long and I was able to sample some of their fresh juices, which were delicious. The curry chicken, rice & peas, cabbage/veggies and plantain were all good. The only disappointing factors were that there was no festival or any patties. I definitely want to try both so I'll be sure to call ahead to see if they have any of either for the next time.

Food was amazing I felt transported back to Brooklyn NYC, served with love and kindness. Stew chicken plate was soo good as was the fried chicken plate. The rice and peas were perfect! The cabbage with the hint of coconut cream was a wonderful addition. The curry chicken patty hits the spot too. Gold Spoon earns their name for sure it was worth the trip.

One of the best Jamaican food in ALL of LA!!! Live tried the jerk, oxtail and the curry goat and everything was beyond delicious except for the curry goat which was a little more gamey than my liking. If you don't mind that gamey taste then you're in for a treat! Def recommend 10/10

YES I agree with all the other reviews 5 's this place hits!!! The food was fresh and every single thing that was served was seasoned to the bone. The owner and the person who works the front were exceptional. They came out and spoke with us, answered questions and even gave us free samples of their fresh squeezed juice. I plan on going back tomorrow to get some juice and of course, while there having another plate. Even though we came right before they closed I was very impressed to see how fresh and delicious the food still was. A friend who flew in with me is from Jamaica and he agreed the food was exceptional. They have a small table if you want to eat in, but it's really a storefront shop designed for grab and go.

Who knew there was such delicious Jamaican food so close to my house!? I've been missing out all these years but so glad I found this place. This was my first time having ackee and salt fish--the bar has been set and it is HIGH! It was sooo good! And I didn't even eat it fresh. I refrigerated it when I got home and ate it hours later reheated. I was so happy to have leftovers for the next day! My partner had the oxtails and said they're the best Jamaican oxtails he's had in LA! Clearly, we will be back. The ladies inside were super welcoming and friendly. One interesting thing to note is their menu isn't the same each day. So I saw salmon but it was only available on Fridays, for instance. Also, the inside is small and cute. Two parties can sit down and eat but it seems like most people take their food to go. There's some street parking in the front but it's in a busy street so be careful.

Great service. Came in with my grandma to try some Jamaican food near by and the gentleman who took our order was nice. I ordered the oxtail, usually I'm a brown stew or curry goat girl but different dishes are available on different days. The oxtails were meaty, soft, and so flavorful. The cabbage is flavorful. We both got the ginger pineapple Food came out, this place is CLEAN, and food is delicious. Great neighborhood spot

I visited here on a Saturday afternoon to order takeout. There was a gentleman who came into the lobby and took my order. I found him to be nice and patient as I decided on what I wanted to order. I came in craving oxtails and curry chicken, but I discovered that they have daily menus and certain items are only served on designated days. Also, they didn't have any patties available. So far, the visit wasn't going my way, lol. I ordered a large oxtail plate, an extra side of plantains and a large pineapple ginger with light ice. I waited about 15 mins in the lobby for my food. When the man brought out my food, I asked for extra oxtail gravy on the side. He didn't give me any flack, lol.. I've had some experiences of asking for extra gravy, and you'd think I asked for a body organ with the look and/or response I received, lol. When I got home, I annihilated that food! IMO, It was delicious! The flavors in the cabbage, smh. Sooo tasty! And the pineapple ginger, OMGoosshhh, divine! I can't wait to return and try the curry chicken and patties.
